Norway 2024

Beginning and ending in Oslo, this encompassing tour of southern Norway balances the country’s charming, timeless villages with the surprising architecture, culture and energy of its capital city. Travel by bus and ferry to view:

  • Extraordinary fjords, serene lakes, gleaming   glaciers and thundering waterfalls. 
  • Orchard-lined Hardangerfjord, the UNESCO-   protected Nærøyfjord , and spectacular    Nordfjord views aboard the Loen Skylift,    Norway’s newest aerial tramway. 
  • Magical Midsommer (Summer Solstice) in Loen   during 24- hour sunlight. 
  • Telemark’s World War II history, including the   heavy water plant and historic Stalheim hotel. 
  • Art of Edvard Munch (The Scream) in Oslo    galleries and the  music of Bergen’s Edvard Grieg (Peer Gynt).

Trip Cost: $3,699 per person (+ $50 OLLI fee)

Cost includes in-country travel, most meals and accommodations. Additional costs: airline fare, gratuities, special excursions and travel insurance.

Interested participants are encouraged to sign up for the optional class "Norway, Ja Ja" on Aug. 31 to learn more about Norways' history, culture and language, and to learn more about the trip.

Register for the trip through the OLLI class registration site beginning July 13. The $50 commitment fee covers an orientation class in the spring. You may also attend a history, culture and language class on August 31 called "Norway, Ja Ja!” to find out more about Norway and the upcoming trip. Sign up for the class on the class registration site.
