Scotland: A 2-Week Cultural, Historic and Scenic Tour
September 16-30, 2024
Scotland serves as a dramatic backdrop for infamous books and films like “Outlander” and “Braveheart.” Experience this magnificent country firsthand on a two-week culture-and-history excursion that includes legendary visits to castles, battlefields, lakes and archaeology sites, interspersed with art, bagpipe music and dolphin watching.
Overnight stays include Edinburgh, Orkney Islands, the Scottish Highlands at Inverness and Isle of Skye, and Glasgow. Land travel is by private motorcoach with expert local guides at each major stop. Orkney and Skye visits include transportation by ferry. Accommodations are in top-rated hotels based on double occupancy. Highlights from the trip include:
- Edinburgh: Edinburgh Castle, Museum of Scotland, Dinner and “Spirit of Scotland” show
- Orkney: Neolithic Village, Archaeological sites of Skara Brae, Ring of Brodgar, Standing Stones of Stenness, and Orkneyinga Saga Center
- Inverness: Dunrobin Castle, Culloden Battlefield, Black Isle dolphin watching, Clava Cairns, and Loch Ness boat ride
- Isle of Skye: Full day touring including, Kilt Rock, Trotternash Peninsula, and Scottish Weavers demonstration, and Armadale Castle
- Oban: Mallaig, Glenfinnan Viaduct, Optional ride on Jacobite Steam Train, Kilmartin Glen Museum, Oban Distillery,
- Glencoe: Loch Lomond, and Trossachs National Park
- Glasgow: Museum and Necropolis, Kelvingrove Art Gallery, National Piping Center, “Come and Try the Bagpipes Session”

Trip Cost: $4,695 (until April 15):
- After April 15 cost increases $4,795.
- Cost excludes Airfare, Jacobite/Harry Potter Train Ride.
- Includes two-person occupancy (single room upgrade +$1495) and meals except breakfast and one dinner meal in Edinburgh.
Accessibility:
- Some non-strenuous walking is required, at times on rough stone pavement.

- Participation in OLLI fall classes on Scotland encouraged, but not required.
