Civil Rights, prehistoric and military history.
Discover the story behind the Anniston Freedom Rides, which succeeded in forcing the
federal government to ban segregation in interstate bus travel during the Civil Rights
Movement. The Anniston Freedom Rider National Monument comprises the original bus
station and a mural and interpretive signage that commemorates the first attack on
the 1961 Freedom Rides.
At the Anniston Museum of Natural History, come face-to-face with prehistoric predators, go spelunking in a replica Alabama cave, stroll the African savanna, and visit Ptolemaic-era mummies.
The Berman Museum invites you to take a walk through history, honor our veterans, admire the arts of Asia, and discover the dangers of espionage.
