The OLLI Doc(umentary) Buffs special interest group is pleased to present the four-part BBC series “Putin, Russia, & the West” in two 2-hour screenings in July at the Special Collections Library.  This series, which won a 2012 George Foster Peabody Award, provides the background and analysis that are essential to understanding our world today. Series overview: Putin began his career as a KGB spy. But when he became President, he made himself an ally of the West. How did he do it? And what made Washington turn against him? For the first time Putin’s top colleagues – and the Western statesmen who eventually clashed with him – tell the inside story of one of the world’s most powerful men. Dates and times: Thursday, July 6, 2:30-5:00 pm (parts 1-2) and Thursday, July 27, 2:30-5:00 pm (parts 3-4). Screenings are free and open to the public. You do not need to be a member of the Doc Buffs SIG to attend.
